The other day I did something that I rarely do. I ordered something the minute I saw it online. I was following New York Fashion Week very closely from my phone and was completely in love with all the styles I was seeing. Then Kohls did something really cool. Within hours if not minutes of Lauren Conrads runway show ending, you could order items from her collection immediate online. I saw this skirt in green walking the runway and squealed when I saw online that it came in pink. I don’t think this skirt could be any cuter. So I ordered it immediately. I will say this though, if you are going to purchase it, get it in a size bigger than you normally wear. It fits a little snug.

I decided to pair this skirt with one of my favorite pale pink tops from The Limited. It is no secret how much I love pink so naturally this outfit has tons of pink in it. All in all, I absolutely love this Lauren Conrad skirt from Kohls. Hope you all have a great Monday!

God bless!

Do you ever have one of those days where you walk out your front door and see a ton of ash flying through the air? No? Just me? Ugh, I tell you what, California is literally on fire. As I was walking out of my parents house to go shoot these pictures, I couldn’t believe how much ash was flying through the air and how orange the sky looked. So if you all are wondering how I got this great, tan/glow, it is from the smoke covering the sun and sky.

Now moving on. Considering it is officially September I am going to act like summer is coming to an end. Sadly it is still scorching hot where i’m from and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. Although I will take any chance I get to introduce some fall colors to my wardrobe. It is no secret that I love bright colors, especially orange. So for today’s outfit I decided to add in a pop of orange.

I found this dress at Kohls a few months ago and have been obsessed with it ever since. I added this orange purse and these adorable black heels to create this look. I will definitely be wearing this to work more often. Hope you all have a great day today and don’t forget to pray for our firefighters fighting all these fires.

God Bless!

// Dress: Eliza J via Nordstrom (it’s even on sale!!) // Clutch: My Sister (similar here) // Shoes: Steve Madden //

From the moment I found this Eliza J dress at Nordstrom I knew this was going to be a special post. I had no idea what I would write or what photos I would choose but I knew that a dress this beautiful HAD to be special. I put a lot of time and thought into what content would match the beauty of this dress and I finally came to a decision. The only thing that would match the beauty of this pink dress would be my grandmother, Gwen. I have talked about her on the blog before but there is just something about this dress that reminds me of her.

When I was a kid she would tell me about how when her and my grandpa got married, they had no money so she didn’t have funds to have a big wedding. No funds meant no bridal party and barely any decorations. She would tell me about the time they got married and even though they barely had a penny to their name, they were in love and happier than ever. She would tell me that had, they had the money she would have loved to have a wedding with accents of pale pink. From that moment on I knew when it came time for me to get married I would have the color pink heavily involved in my wedding.

Now clearly i’m not getting married and have no plans to do so in the near future. However when I saw this dress it reminded me so much of my grandma because of her love for pink. I went to Nordstrom with the intention of finding a dress for some pretty important work meetings and came out with a dress that not only makes me feel beautiful but reminds me of my wonderful grandma. I found these pale pink shoes and knew they were the ones. It took some convincing for my mom to agree seeing as how they are ridiculously high and I have a bad knee, but eventually she agreed.

This dress embodies everything my grandma was about. It’s classy, conservative, feminine and pink, all the things that remind me of her. I am so blessed to have had the time I did with her. I’m thankful for little reminders like this dress that remind me of the woman I want to be, classy, conservative, feminine and obsessed with all things pink! Luckily whenever I need encouragement I can always turn to my mom. She is so much like my grandmother. She inspires me to be a woman of God and a woman who knows what she wants and will work her butt off to get it.

This might just be a dress to you, but to me it is a dress that reminds me of a woman who helped shape me to the lady I am today. For that, I am forever grateful.

Have a blessed day! Hug someone a little tighter today. God bless!
