You know that moment when you walk into a store, find an adorable dress, feverishly look through all the sizes to find the one that will fit you and it’s not there? Not there, as in they don’t even carry or make the dress in the size you need? Yea, me too… So frustrating. Luckily I stumbled upon Gwynnie Bee. An online monthly rental service for clothes ranging from sizes 10-32.
Now lets talk about something I don’t know if I’ve really talked about on my blog before. My weight. I used to be 75 pounds sopping wet up until my junior year of high school. I was so skinny I could literally fit through a plastic coat hanger (Don’t ask how I figured that out please lol). I don’t think that was exactly healthy. I have put on some pounds over the last 10+ years and although some may see me as heavy or curvy, I see myself as healthy. I exercise regularly, eat pretty healthy and stay very active.
There have been so many judgments passed my way because of my weight over the years and the only time I tend to pay attention to them is when i’m shopping for clothes. I am not entirely sure why most clothing brands think that women’s bodies should fit into 10 and below. Honestly, I range from an 8 to a 14! Yes, that is shocking to read i’m sure. It’s shocking for me to say but it’s the truth. It is incredibly frustrating, even for a fashion blogger who has a voice in this body obsessed culture of ours. Luckily Gwynnie Bee contacted me with a collaboration opportunity and I jumped at it. The only interaction I had with this company before this was seeing their Facebook advertisements all over my news feed, kudos to their marketing team on that one!
I had always been curious about what they had to offer and let me tell you, I am very impressed and thrilled with what they have. They were more than kind enough to send me some samples to try out and I immediately fell in love with this summer dress. Not only did it fit in all the right places but wasn’t overly baggy or mega tight. The perfect fit, which seems to be a struggle for my body with other clothing companies. I had such a fun time playing dress up in all the outfits they sent my way but this was my favorite by far. I highly recommend you look into their monthly subscription if you struggle with finding the perfect fit like I do.
