I’m sure everyone knows by now that I went to Boston a few weeks ago. Knowing I was going to a place with some of the most amazing history, I had to take this Born Free shirt with me. Yes, it has taken me a “few” weeks to get my head on straight and finally sort out all my photos I took on vacation. It was my first time in the far North East and I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. It was like stepping into a history book. We stayed in a very small town that seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere. However we discovered on the way to town one day that there was this adorable paper mill very close to where we were staying. It was really cool to see the smoke stacks during the day and I just loved the look of the building.

I had packed this outfit with hopes I would find an all American place to wear it. Well how much more American can you get than a paper mill? I stopped by Sitting Pretty in Chowchilla before I left on vacation. I was hoping to find a few tops that I could wear. Well, I had no idea that it would be so cold out there, so all the tops I bought, required a heavy jacket to be put over them so I could stay warm. I may have froze for the purpose of these photos, but it was totally worth it. So here’s the exciting part about today’s post. I’ve teamed up with Sitting Pretty to giveaway the tan version of the cross body purse (pictured in the last photo) i’m wearing in these photos. How exciting is that?! This purse was a life saver on vacation. It held quite a bit of stuff and was adorable with every outfit. Want to enter? Follow the instructions on the Rafflecopter widget below. Good luck!

Hope you all have a happy Sunday! God bless!

¬†You know that moment where you immediately realized you seriously underestimated a situation? Well the look on my face in the last photo would be me realizing I seriously underestimated how cold it was outside. Yes that is my breath you can see to the left of my face. LOL. Now i’m a simple country girl from the valley and lately we have been experiencing some pretty cold weather. Or so I thought, but it was FREEZING up in Twain Harte. I figured I’d be fine with just a jacket, but nope. I needed my beenie, a scarf, my boots, boot socks, gloves and a hot drink. It was THAT cold.

While we were driving into town we saw these trees next to a parking lot that were loaded with snow. Naturally we had to stop and snap a few photos. I have never seen such beautifully packed trees. It looked like something out of a movie. It was so gorgeous.

Now onto the story behind this outfit. So my mom and sister found this plaid shirt at JCPenney last week. I was beyond mad when I had shrunk my favorite black and white plaid shirt in the dryer that morning. You can see the one i’m talking about here. So I left my house, beating myself up, ready to ball, (no I don’t cry over clothes, but I was sick too!) and I headed to a doctors appointment. When I got back this shirt was hanging in my closet with a note. It was so sweet and thoughtful of my sister and mom to find a shirt that would replace the one I shrunk. It has now become one of my favorite shirts. I paired it with this scarf I got from Christmas that can be found at Farmhouse in Turlock.

Stay warm out there! God bless!

I can’t believe Christmas is over… That honestly makes me so sad. I may or may not have already starting counting down till next year. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you probably saw that I came pretty close to having a white Christmas. My aunt and uncle were kind enough to bring us a truck bed full of snow on Christmas day. Living in the Central Valley, our white Christmas’s are extremely rare, not even sure if we have ever had one. So the day after Christmas I decided that I NEEDED to see more snow. Apparently everyone else thought that too because it was bumper to bumper traffic the whole way up the mountain. All traffic aside, it was a magical experience.

We headed up to Twain Harte to see some snow and boy did we. The first picture is one of the roads leading into town and I was so amazed by how beautifully covered the trees were. I can’t believe that every branch of every tree was covered with inches of snow. It was beautiful. I knew as soon as we got there that my outfit would be perfect. I was so excited to receive this poncho from NY Collection. They were so kind to send me a few pieces and I couldn’t believe how gorgeous this poncho was, when I opened it. I knew that it would look great with a pop of red and my shiny black Hunter boots. I have already received so many compliments on this outfit and can’t wait to wear it again! Curious where you can find this adorable piece? Head over to their website now!

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas! God bless!
