A Day in San Francisco in Sofft Shoes

No that’s not a typo, these shoes are from the brand Sofft and they are so comfortable! Can you believe it? I actually have a new post on the blog!! I’m pretty much just as shocked as you are. However when opportunity knocks you have to take it. I had the opportunity to spend some time in San Francisco with one of my best friends yesterday. We both hadn’t been there in a while so we decided to take a day off and drive in from Napa. I decided that what better time to make my grand return to blogging than that?

We decided to head to get some brunch at the Ferry Building. Well little did I know i’d be walking six blocks in these heels, but hey, i’m always up for a challenge. I’m happy to report that my knee did great walking those six blocks in heels, my feet however on the way back decided to start screaming. Either way, the laughs and conversation was well worth the pain.

Now normally my mom is my photographer for this blog but that has proven to be quite the struggle since moving to Napa. Thankfully, my sweet friend Sally was up for the task. Okay, I didn’t really ask if she was, I kind of just say hey would you mind taking my picture when we go to SF and gave her my camera. Thankfully she took a few shots to warm up then acted like a pro. I was seriously impressed. I should mention that her day job is owning a bakery in Napa (Monday Bakery), but who knows, she may have photography in her future.

Oh the Laughs

I can honestly tell you that moving to Napa has had its fair share of challenges. So many things were thrown my way this summer and I honestly would have never kept my sanity if it weren’t for Sally. It was a life altering summer and God must have known I wouldn’t make it through without a friend to help keep my head in a good place. From the day I moved into my apartment Sally was so sweet. No seriously, she left me some sweets the weekend I moved in! I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am that she was put in my life. She’s been a shoulder to cry on, an ear to vent to and a person who totally supports my love for good food. Our day trip to San Francisco was nothing short of hilarious. Every time we get together we can’t stop laughing. Our personalities are so similar and that makes for never having a dull moment.

Hope you all enjoy this outfit as much as I did. I can’t get over how slimming this dress is from Target’s new line, A New Day. I highly recommend snagging a few pieces before they are gone. So many great styles and for such affordable prices. Have a wonderful Thursday!

Pink Clutch from Sitting Pretty

I have a confession. I have become a pretty big fan of shopping via Instagram. So when I saw this pink clutch at one of my favorite stores, I just had to buy it. Thankfully the owners are so sweet and were more than willing to send it up to Napa. Every time I go home to visit, I just have to stop by Sitting Pretty in Chowchilla. They have the cutest outfits and accessories. I mean look, how cute is this pink clutch?

I stopped by my best friends store in Oakdale last weekend and was finally with my mom so she was able to take a few pictures of this outfit. Want to see the post from the store grand opening? You can see it here. We got to wander around the new store and hang out with my best friend and her mom. A few people laughed at me because they thought that I purposely matched the color scheme of the store with my outfit. I will say that was perfectly planned. Just kidding.

I tell you what, I truly miss doing all my photo shoots with my mom. Not having her live close to me has been an adjustment and I know that you all have noticed. I haven’t quite mastered the tripod photo shoots yet. I’m working on it though. 🙂

Thank you!

Thank you all so much for following along on this new and exciting journey. If you’re tired of not seeing posts that often, feel free to follow me on Instagram, i’m a lot more active on there. I hope you all have a great Friday and have a wonderful weekend. If you’re ever up near Napa, you know who to email. I’ve got plenty of recommendations of places to eat, drink and shop!

Whew, a new post!! YAY! I have to tell you, i’ve been trying to keep my sanity over here lately. While blogging is not my full time job, it does require quite a bit of my time and while I LOVE blogging the last two months I needed a break. So I took it. I am thrilled that I have taken the time I needed and am ready to start back posting on a more regular schedule. So what better way to come back than with quite a few new posts, including this blue dress?! Woohoo! I’m pretty excited about it.

If you’ve been following my blog since the beginning of this year you have seen some awesome posts about my Fit Journey. Well i’ll update you more on that in a few weeks but right now, let’s talk about how stoked I am that I fit into this dress. My mom called me one night while I was volunteering at church and told me to come out to the parking lot. My heart raced, I had no idea what she was doing at church at that moment. I came outside and she was sitting in the car with a bag. This dress was in it. I opened the bag and fell in love immediately but was so sad to see it wasn’t my size. I looked at her and told her, it’s too small. She said, well just try it. So I took it home with me.

That night I tried it on and called my mom in tears. She barely answered the phone before I screamed, “It fits!!!” She laughed and told me that she knew it would. I had no idea I had lost enough weight to fit into it. She found it at Kohls and couldn’t pass it up. I’m so glad she didn’t! It’s my favorite dress!

Hope you all have a wonderful Monday! God bless!
